We believe the story of Christmas is ours to tell.  Instead of buying a bunch of stuff, we have a challenge for you: Worship Fully, Spend Less, and Give More this Advent season.  Let’s tell the real story of Christmas – the story of a King coming to save His children.  The story of Jesus.

To help tell this story, we ask you to participate in our 2024 Advent Conspiracy campaign. 

• First, in October & November, serve with our hands on opportunities: Packing Food Boxes at Christian Service Mission & Operation Christmas Child
• Second, in December, buy less and give more.  We encourage you to buy one less gift and give away what you would have spent for the sake of the Gospel.  Give the funds to Advent Conspiracy at MBCC and together we will give away 100% of it to our Advent Conspiracy partner. More coming soon!

Buy Less, Give More

This year our Advent Conspiracy partner is Grace House Ministries project is “From Anywhere to Everywhere” as we strive to take the Gospel to the hardest to reach places.  We will be focusing on two organizations: India National Inland Mission and Eagles of Peace.  As this Advent season progresses, we encourage you to buy fewer gifts this Christmas and give away what you would have spent for the sake of the Gospel.  This is the Advent Conspiracy.  100% of what we raise together will be given away to support this project.

What is Grace House Ministries?

• Grace House exists to provide stable, Christian homes to Alabama girls in foster care with the commitment to developing mature, Godly women.
• Grace House was founded by “Mama” Lois Coleman. Mama Lois worked with community leaders to purchase and renovate a house in Fairfield, and this first home on Grace House’s campus opened in 1992 when 8 girls moved in.
• Grace House is the only program in the Birmingham area dedicated exclusively to providing services to Alabama girls in foster care. All of the girls who call Grace House home have been removed from the custody of their families due to abandonment, abuse, and/or neglect, and are placed at Grace House through their partnership with the State of Alabama.
• There are currently over 2,500 girls in the Alabama foster care system. Grace House currently provides a home for 40 girls with 15 properties, with a vision of having the space to provide a home for even more girls in the future.
• Grace House’s comprehensive approach seeks to end the cycles of poverty and abuse by educating, equipping, and empowering them, and giving them the hope of Jesus Christ.

How Can We Help?

• Grace House now is entering their fourth decade with a proposal to expand programs and facilities to serve more girls and improve their services.
• They have launched a $4.75 million Growing in Grace Campaign that will: increase the educational space and resources of their Campus School, add 2 new Transitional Living Program homes for girls who are on track to age out of foster care, and build the Lois G. Coleman Mission Center as the hub of all campus activities.
• As many as 60% of the girls living at Grace House attend the campus school. The campus school provides an opportunity for the girls to get caught up to grade level and provides a smaller learning environment for girls who have been through trauma.
• Funds raised though our Advent Conspiracy project will go to support the expansion of the campus school which includes expanded space, new technology, a school resource officer, enrichment specialist, child nutrition specialist and a new van.
• Our goal is to raise $200,000 to help fund the expansion of the campus school where the Grace House girls are getting a quality, Christ centered education while at the same time learning valuable life skills and job readiness training.
