Mountain Brook Community Church is a non-denominational church in Birmingham, Alabama that exists to develop fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. We hope to do this by celebrating God's presence, demonstrating His love, educating His people for maturity, motivating His people for ministry, and penetrating His world. Because this is our goal, everything we do as a church revolves around this core mission.
We are a community of Christians devoted to serving Christ and serving one another. The Bible is our foundation and our source of authority. We are marked by a commitment to:
The Bible as our authority for faith and practice.
Systematic and relevant teaching of God’s Word.
Releasing lay people for ministry.
Growth by conversion versus transfer.
World evangelism and community impact.
Cooperate with other churches and ministries that share our core values and beliefs.
Exuberant, participatory, and relevant worship of God in Spirit and in Truth.
MBCC grew out of a burden that several families had to reach out to their community with the Gospel. The first services were held in the home of one of our members in the Spring of 1992. We eventually moved to a building on Montevallo Road in the Fall of that year. Since then we have grown through challenges and victories to see God's faithfulness in completing the great work He has begun. Some of those victories led us to the opportunity to move to our current location on Highway 280 (Originally Briarwood church, former site of Southeastern Bible College) where there is a long legacy of Christian service. As we look to our future, we are encouraged to be a part of what God is doing in the Birmingham area and around the world.
