The youth ministry at MBCC exists to develop teenagers into fully-devoted followers of Jesus Christ. We hope to do this by creating an atmosphere where students are encouraged to live with passion, purpose, conviction, and joy. In pursuit of this goal, we engage in weekly events, small groups, retreats, and mission trips. Wherever you are in your personal journey with Christ, we are here to help junior and senior high students take the next step in following Jesus.
Well the youth ministry is busy this summer! We have a lot of exciting things ahead, but don’t forget about the weekly opportunities. God gives us wonderful moments and experiences to encourage us and move us on, yet the true relationship with Him is lived out in the “day-to-day.” Our ministries are all designed to help you take yet even more steps in developing a strong relationship with Christ, and with His body. The summer season is always a GREAT TIME to get plugged in, so come on…it’s NOT TOO LATE!
Youth Summer Mission Opportunities
• Hale County – June 5-12 for this years 8-12th graders! We’re going back for day camps in Greenville, AL, working on several churches in the area and some powerful group-building time together.
• Hungary – June 22-July 5 for this year’s 11-12th graders! After an incredible experience last year, we’ve extended the trip a little to help us serve our missions partners longer.
Junior High Mystery Trip July 12-16
“Can you go without knowing where you are going?” Registration has begun and there are limited spots so sign up quickly. Registration forms are available in the Hut. Youth won’t know what’s around the corner or what’s coming the next day, and this is a great outreach event.
Senior High rafting trip to Ocoee – July 26-27
camp overnight and raft in the morning – great times!
WHUT – Wednesday at the Hut
On June 16 and July 21, join us at the Hut for some crazy games, such as the crowd favorite slip’n’slide kickball.
Leadership Retreat – July 30-31
We will be taking the Juniors and Seniors overnight to discuss the importance of being a leader and what the youth ministry can do to impact them and grow them spiritually.
Elevation 2010 Registration is HERE!!
September 10-12 a community of students gather once again for a weekend that God has used to change lives. Featuring Adam Robinson and the Kristian Stanfill Band. Check for brochures coming in the mail, then get those registrations in!
City Gates – Join us at 9:00 am on Sunday mornings. You never know how we’ll kick it off, but you can count on us talking through some Biblical issues that relate right where you live. We’ll gather together on the front end in the Meeting Room, and then divide up by Jr. High and Sr. High.
Sunday Nites – Snack supper kicks it off at 6:00, and then Jr. and Sr. High split at 6:30. JH has a game or two, lots of time with your friends, and powerful teaching to help with the rest of your week. SH meets most weeks in our newly converted room, “The Den” for some unplugged worship, maybe a light game tossed in, and a “conversation Bible Study.” Come try it out. You’ll like it.
Youth-led Sunday Nites – We started something new this year. Every few weeks we are having student-led worship, testimonies, and teaching! This is a time for true life-on-life ministry as the students share with one another what the Lord is teaching them and how to live for Him and be a “light” in your school. Our next one is December 6. You won’t want to miss it!
Huddles – Over the years these small groups have developed into one of our more meaningful ministries. We have girls’ groups and guys’ groups for each grade, meeting at a time convenient for each group. Led by some amazing college students and young adults, Huddles are an amazing way to really anchor your faith. To get plugged in, email Troy.
