Beliefs
Scripture
We believe the entire 66 books of the Bible are the inspired Word of God. We believe men were moved by the Holy Spirit to write words of Scripture; therefore the Bible’s original writings are without error and our supreme authority for life.
God
We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). God the Father rules over the world in perfect wisdom, power, and love. We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who became flesh to reveal God to man and be the Savior of the world. We believe the Holy Spirit is active in our world, among other things, convicting the world of sin, drawing people to a relationship with Christ, living within followers of Jesus to guide and give power for Christ-like living.
Mankind
We believe that man was created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him, but has become alienated from that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, man is totally sinful in nature and incapable of coming back into a right relationship with God by his own effort.
Jesus
We believe Jesus was born of the virgin Mary, was fully God and fully man, lived without sin, was crucified and physically rose from the dead, ascended to heaven, and will personally return.
Salvation
We believe that the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ on the cross is the only basis for the forgiveness of sins. Salvation only occurs when a person, as enabled by the Holy Spirit, places his/her faith in Jesus. It is in His life, death, and resurrection that there is the sufficient payment for sin, and only hope for a right relationship with God.
Christian Life
We believe that every Christian should live for Christ and not for himself. By obedience to the Word through daily yielding to the Holy Spirit, every believer will mature and be increasingly conformed to the image of Christ.
Church
We believe that the Church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the Head. The members are those who by faith trust in the finished work of Christ for their salvation. The purpose of the Church is to glorify God by loving Him and by making Him known to the people of the world.
Eternity
We believe in the bodily resurrection of those who are saved by faith to live with Him eternally in heaven, while those who are not will dwell eternally separated from Him.
